Texas quarterback Arch Manning opts into EA’s College Football 25 for around $50-60K.
AUSTIN, TX– Arch Manning has finally ended the holdout. No, not for the Longhorns, but instead for College Football 25, EA Sports’ video game set to come out on July 19th.
Manning, the nephew of both NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton, reportedly opted out of the game back in March. However, it seems he has reversed course after EA Sports’ NIL booster supposedly paid Manning a payout of $50,000 to $60,000.
The sophomore backup made his announcement in a video post on X, thanks to a cameo from Eli Manning.
More than 10,000 players have opted into the video game. EA Sports’ normal NIL payout is $600 and a copy of the game once it comes out– valued at around $70 retail. Most players opt-in without a hitch, however, Manning reportedly said he, “wanted to wait until ‘he was the guy’ at Texas”.
Manning has historically been reluctant to take on NIL deals with his only other confirmed deal being a contract for trading cards with Panini America.
The announcement on X featured EA Sports’ famed tagline “in the game” showing that EA called the deal. Manning’s market has been redhot ever since his freshman year at college, but the fact remains he is still the QB2 to Quinn Ewers.
Speculation swirled if Manning would transfer schools, but he made the decision to stay, setting his succession plan up after Ewers’ departure.
