Freshman superstar RB Dylan Edwards has transferred from Colorado to Kansas State, returning to his home state.
MANHATTAN, KS– The Wildcats have landed former Colorado freshman starting running back Dylan Edwards. Edwards, a Derby, KS native will return home to the Wildcats after spending his freshman season in Boulder becoming the Buffs’ leading rusher in 2023.
Edwards broke the news via X, where he posted a picture of himself wearing a Kansas State uniform. As a true freshman, Edwards made an instant impact for Colorado, rushing for 324 yards and 299 yards receiving. He broke out in his first ever game in Week 1 against TCU where he rushed for one touchdown but caught for 135 yards and three touchdowns, totaling four on the afternoon.
Edwards was ranked the No. 140 overall recruit in last year’s class. Edwards initially committed to play for both Kansas State and Notre Dame before signing with new Colorado coach Deion Sanders.
Edwards also has a track and field pedigree, competing in two track meets for the Buffs during his time in Boulder. His speed was one of the reasons he was an immediate force on a Colorado team that relied on a rushing attack with a weak passing offensive line.
Kansas State’s rushing attack is formidable as is, with starting back DJ Giddens ranking fourth in the Big 12 in scrimmage yards last season with 1,226 rushing yards, 323 receiving yards and 13 total touchdowns. Now, Edwards will pose to be a two-headed snake allowing for the new-look Kansas State offense to be as dynamic as possible.
